Registration for morning preschool classes for the 2017-2018 school year begins in January. Priority is given to full members of Chevy Chase United Methodist Church (full membership by December 1st of prior year), children currently enrolled in the program and their siblings, and to alumni families. Spaces remaining in the program after priority registration are assigned on a lottery basis in early February. To be considered for the lottery, parents must submit a Registration Form 2017-18 with the application fee of $50 to the preschool office by 3:00 p.m. January 31, 2017. Wait lists are assembled by children’s birth dates and gender, and are maintained for classes that are fully enrolled. Families seeking registration after the lottery process must complete a Waitlist Application. These wait lists will be dissolved on February 1, 2018, as spaces will not be filled after that time. Names are not carried over to the following school year.
Registration for the afternoon enrichment programs (Adventure Afternoon, Spanish Immersion, and French Immersion) begins in April. Priority advance registration is given to members of Chevy Chase United Methodist Church until May 1st. Remaining spaces are assigned to Preschool families on a lottery basis and on a rolling basis thereafter. It is not necessary for a child to be toilet-trained to enter the morning preschool program. However, only those children who have had their third birthday and who are fully toilet trained may be enrolled in an afternoon enrichment program.
Parents are required to sign a confirmation letter stating that they have read the Parent Handbook Handbook 2016-17 of the Chevy Chase United Methodist Church Preschool, and agree to accept the responsibility of active participation, to abide by the rules and regulations of the Preschool, to pay all fees on time, and to comply with the health policies.
